We all know that mantises can regenerate broken/severed limbs after a few molts. From your own experiences, approximately how many molts does it take to replace a missing foot to it's original size?

Guys I have a quick question, one of my female ghosts has only 3 legs. I noticed this at L3. Anyways she molted once, and revealed a somewhat "dwarfed" regenerated limb, which after a few days "fell" off (not sure if it simply fell off, or she ate it). Anyways she molted again and is now L5, and this molt showed no regenerated limb.

Is that normal?

If the limb was a raptoral claw, then i would say that maybe normal. The other legs usually regenerate pretty quick! It's really hard to say? I once had a chinese mantis lose one of it's raptoral claws to a sibling at L3. She never made any atempt to regenerate the claw. Infact, she survived to adulthood with only one claw. I still i'm not sure why she never made any atempt to grow it back? She had plenty of time.
