Lining a tank to keep nymphs from climbing

I was reading that crickets cannot climb up the wide clear packing tape used to seal boxes. I was wondering if anyone knew if the nymphs can climb across this ?

I would like to keep them from getting on the mesh top is why I ask

Mantid nymphs or cricket nymphs? Mantid nymphs can climb smooth surfaces.

Generally its a good thing for the nymphs to be on the lid, they like it best there. Unless you're talking about crickets. Try smearing a little bit of vegetable oil or something of the sort around the glass near the top. That should do the trick.
