I found a tiny praying mantis tgis morning when I went cricket/grasshopper hunting...

Super cute but probably L2-L3.

I think it is a Carolina Mantis (male?)... He's in a mason jar (i know....?) habitat for now.

Cool! Can you find him a different cage and maybe give us some better pics?

I've got him a different cage now. I will try to get pictures soon.  Been feeding him fruit flies and a little banana and bug guts.

mantids eat banana? and do they like it?
They will also eat honey and bee pollen if you hand-feed it to them. I use honey to tame some of my mantises, and I have even heard that it may be beneficial for the mantis since many species eat pollinators in the wild.

Right. We use honey and pollen alot around here.

For so many things! Wounds, sickness, weak nymphs... Etc... I believe it also helps to build the immune system. I use it randomly even when my mantids are not sick, kind of as a boost!

Here are some of the promised pictures!

I wonder if he is going to molt soon. He still has a great appetite but I just wonder.

He does not look L2-3, more like L5-6. Carolinas are a lot smaller than Chinese.
