Yesterday I went up to the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. It was a good trip which resulted in 2 Orchids, several Deroplatys, a shield mantis and several Creobaters. (Along with sundry Leaf, stick insects and katydids.)

While I was up there I took this photo and posted it on my Face book page - Exotic Insects - someone has now asked me what species it is. I have no idea at all! It was in a friend's collection; he gets all sorts of stunning mantis but I rarely know what they are.

Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

Should be Hestiasula phyllopus, the most common species of this genus in the area, but a certain uncertainty remains, as there is a similar species of which only males are known.
