Hello guys, I just got a new mantid. I think it's a local species.

I'm from Malaysia btw.

It is 3 cm longest and very tiny! I've given it a proper housing and I haven't fed it yet

It has two tiny red spots for eyes. Pretty long wings. And is super fast and fiesty!

I have had a mantis before it was a Dead Leaf Mantis but it died living a full life span.

Now I'm just wondering if anyone could help me identify this one. Thanks :]

Here are some pics.

Sorry for the bad pics. Couldn't get a clear shot.

Hii guys.

Thanks for the id. Can anyone tell me anyone more info on the Tropidomantis sp?

Hi, I'm from Malaysia too!I live in KL.Cool mantis you got there. You found it?
Yep I found it. :] In my house.

haha, i can only imagine how surreal it would be to just chance upon a Tropidomantis in my house! i envy you... :p ;)

i dont think anyone here could tell you the actual species just from those photos. this page lists two Tropidomantis species (tenera, gressitti) and this page has some photos of Tropidomantis tenera. but i reckon to narrow it down to species level would take an experienced person looking at the actual specimen. however this is even assuming it is Tropidomantis at all!

They sadly dont appear to be in the hobby so hardly anyone would know about them
