iT all depends on species, temperature, amount of food. So if they metabolize faster they die quicker.

No set time. Too many factors determine this.

I had a male Gambien die just two days ago and he was eleven months old. I keep good notes so I know exactly how old he was. There were four males and one female originally and the others died months ago. All kept in the same conditions - this guy was just superior I guess. He looked pretty good, too. I was really hoping he'd make it to the one year mark but woke up one day to find him with his feet in the air.

If you know what you're doing, you can make it live 2 years. That depends on the species though. Some will only live for a minute. They hatch and then they die.
