My hierodula majuscula L6 I think is becoming blind. on her left eye there was a little speck. i thought it was dirt or something to i got a wet cotton swab and tried to clean her eye.

She recently molted into L7 an the speck has now spread to her right eye. On the molt is a little speck. I will post pictures soon. Is there anything i could do? If she becomes blind what will be the side effects. hand feeding probably wont be a problem.

Nothing to be sorry for... We all get scared if we think our mantis are in danger... it is natural... but it seems to be a common occurrence... I hope all goes well...

Yup, I'm pretty sure it's the same thing.

The spots are likely to get bigger, sometimes frighteningly bigger but they are completely harmless and won't affect the eyesight.

As said in the link I posted above, these are caused when the mantis rubs its eyes against the wall of the container causing some kind of bruising.
