I hope this is the correct place to post this question. I am hoping to have someone re-post some great mantis ID websites that were posted earlier I can't seem to find the sites in my bookmarks. I am a teacher and have several different species of mantis in my classroom that the students care for and I want the students to identify which species they currently are caring for.

Thank you,

Ramona

I know of no websites like that. You can compare using pictures of each species. If you caught them outside then they are probably Mantis religiosa or Tenodera sinensis. It is spelled Praying Mantis. In your interests thing you wrote Preying Mantis.

Check out my site, on the care sheet to see if they match any, I also have a nice chinese pic on the for sale page, and then also try Yens site. He has a lot of pics on his.

In addition to the posts above mine, I'd have to say the expertise in this forum is vast. I'm sure if you post up good pictures of your classroom mantids, we might be able to help id them. Just a thought....
