could someone pls answer this question. say if you bred a pair of mantids and say the female laid 6 ooths ya hatch one to see if they are fertile before you sell the other ooths. How the heck do you slow down the hatch rate of the other ooths before selling them cheers....

Are you talking about how to delay the hatching? If so I don't see why that would be a problem because most take awhile to hatch.

just wondered cos ive seen ppl say with 25 ghost ooths for sale so i just wondered how they managed to stop them from hatching all at once.......

If one had close to 25 ghost ooths, one would have to have multiple mated females. For example, a female lays an ooth then lays another one about two weeks later. The first hatches about 30 days later. The second about two weeks afterward. Obviously with 25 that complicates things a little :p But if you keep careful note of the hatching and laying times it is possible to tell when one will hatch.

:p Yea you have to have multiples. I have anywhere between 6 and a dozen female ghost laying at any one time, and for the last couple month, I have at least 3 to 4 ooths hatch a week. too bad they aren't chickens!
