Does anyone know of a book or a website that has all the better know mantis species listed

with a good color ID pic and maybe a little paragraph for each one?

Something like that would be extremly helpful ;)

A link or tile would do nicely.

check out uk mantis forum. they have the most complete one i have seen yet. also teratipica is good.

The "old" Mantodea picture database was transferred and is still under construction.

You can try it here:

http://www.terra-typ...-datenbank.html

Pictures of more than 200 Mantodea species (about 10% of the species that are described) and we have to upload a lot more.
This seems to be the best so far. Thanks.

It would be great if I had this in print form.

This is the ukforum list http://www.ukmantisforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7401&p=60113#post60113

It is the sci name, common name and a picture but is limited as the pictures are of species kept by forum members.

The terratyp database is a great resource and is searchable in many ways as is the IGM number list which also has pictures http://www.hotel-grille.de/IGM-Nummern.htm
