I've been keeping a few orchid mantises and I've started the breeding process around five days ago. Everything seems like what I've searched;
(Basically the males do a drumming technique once they're on the backs and hang on for dear life.)
I've seen what appears to be mating as well, but as of the five days the females nor the males have eaten any of the flies I've placed in the container.
Should I worry at all, or is it common knowledge that they do not eat during mating?
(I'm going to try to get some moths as well to see if its simply the food supply.)
