Can a female that laid a ooth(unfertile?)in the middle of the night still be mated that same day, if not how long should I wait?

Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Yeah that what I'm thinking, planned this all week to do early this morning, but then last night she laid a ooth, can't do it during the week as I work and with only one male I'm not taking any chances.

Murphs law in full swing. :(

She can be mated, but you have a very high risk of losing the male. Remember, she just had an ooth and is extremely hungry again. What to do? Gorge her with lots of food until she's fat and then mate her. I usually do that 1 to 2 days after.

From what I've observed, males will usually not be interested in females who have just laid oothecae. The males will have a look and move away immediately. Seems like they instinctively know they're gonna end up as food for hungry females that have just laid. Males will usually resume interest about a week after.
