im just cruious do these flys do better in warmer coniditions and with a lamp on them from a distance? i dont wanna dry out the media

They will breed faster if they are warmer. The flightless types fully grow their wings when it is below 70 degrees. The wingless type does not do that. My wingless fruit flies did well when it was about 68 degrees. Use smashed apple. They would breed a lot faster if you used the special media to make them bigger and breed faster.
 
The higher the temp the more mold you may get, 68-72 is good unless you want them to hatch quicker then 76-78 till they boom.
