Mellisa just molted from L7, so that must be adult stage. She is still soft, she got out of the skin 30 minutes ago and hasn't expanded anything yet, her wingbuds are white and the front ones have a yellow dot to them, I hope that she is an adult now. The previous instar was L7 and I'm concerned because she needs a mate and I need her to be an adult, she was an inch before, and after molting, is just over an inch, and her ovipositer is fully developed. Also, the top of the abdomen looks flat, and her abdomen overall looks adult like, but the wings don't seem to have expanded yet. I am soooo worried. Help me please someone!!!

Relax man! Take a deep breath. If she just moulted give her some time to pump her wings up.

Guess what. She's still a nymph and is L8!!! You know, I am sick and tired of her being a nymph, and so is she! If she doesn't become an adult soon, I may not be able to breed her. Here's the thing, Emile has offered me a new adult male who molted yesterday, but I can't buy it unless Mellisa is also an adult and I confirm that she is also the species Emile has (C. gemmatus). Yen said that she was probably gemmatus, but isn't sure. She is still an inch and an eighth long, and could either be C. gemmatus or C. elongata. Judging by the light green coloration of her, and how my luck with her and her brother has been and the fact that the person offering me C. elongata told me they all died, she might very well be gemmatus.

She's not a nymph/larvae whatever term you wanna use she's subadult judging by your description of the large wingbuds.

And I won't even touch the subject on what exact species of Creobroter she is as I've already told you and given you a link to the discussion.

finally she is subadult! can't you just leave me alone on the whole species thing. If she gets fed well, she'll be an adult in no time! I had no idea Creobroters molted 8 times!

Well, I owe you an apology. For some reason I was thinking about Theopropus, elegans the whole time.  (I guess it is because I got home very late from a national competition last night) You probably have C elongata then.

Sorry about that. ;)
