This little guy jumped on my arm from some lilies growing in the yard. Shot 06/16/2010. I never saw one like this before. Absolutely golden though the light reflections make it look kind of green. In hindsight direct sunlight was probably not the best choice of lighting for such a reflective insect. Red mouth makes for a cool color scheme.
He leaves a trail of web as he goes. You can see it floating in the air around 4:30.
Tough to get good closeups because he was constantly on the move, but I did what I could. It's a real challenge to capture a moving target with such a narrow depth of field. Also, I'm only using a magnifying filter, not a real macro lens, so highlights diffuse causing loss of contrast the closer I get. Very limited choices when using a camcorder. :-(
