I guess it was bound to happen sometime, one of my creo p. nymphs fell or was knocked down by BB while molting (did not expect next molt till next week and she ate the BBF the prior day so i saw no "sign" of impending molt) I found her at the bottom of the enclosure with both raptoral arms still stuck in the exuvia. I was able to free one arm but it is twisted and looks like it wont close, the other arm I was able to trim the exuvia back but cannot get the rest loose. I misted her and will check on her after work. If both raps are useless I will have to declare her T.F.BUNDY and freeze her. a real shame....I have a few different color "furniture" for the nymphs to see if I could induce the nyphs colors...the only nymph to manifest a different color was this nymph...she is a cool neon lime green color compared to the others. I may have to repeat the test later and see if the same color furniture manifests the same color change in another nymph over a few molts.

Feed her off instead? These things happen, sorry to hear. But don't waste her body, use it!

The circle of life isn't for everyone but I agree, don't let it go to waste, it's what may happen in the wild at the very least a bird or rodent would get it, just don't sit there and watch if it bothers you.

Does she have any molts left? You could always feed her till her next one and see if she has a shot of improving her limbs in the another go at it.

I think she is pre-sub or maybe sub, if the raptorals are complete and she looks healthy I can try to nurse her along till next molt.

I will see how she looks when I get home. my sp. Lineola would munch on her for sure if she looks too frail or mangled.

I fed one of my linoela's an old dying creo adult yesterday. BUt if you can nurse to health I'd def opt for that.

Sorry to hear this.

I have had several molts where the mantis eats the same night they molt. My Hierodula majuscula just molted yesterday and she ate a ton right before.

Similar (almost exactly same) thing happened to one of my Creos...I now have to hand feed him, as his forelegs are almost comepletely useless.

sad to see...but like watching a lion take a gazelle....circle of life...less work for me and more mercyful than nature to end it for the crippled mantis
