I noticed a nymph missing front right tarsus two days ago. It molted yesterday and it still is missing it's foot. It was L2 to L3, she uses the leg when walking, sometimes, but most of the time it is not in contact with a climbing/ hanging surface. I was hoping it would repair the injury during the molt. How many molts should it take to repair itself?

It should only take one molt to regrow the tarsus, maybe two to regrow it to its normal size. It tends to depend on whether or not the body part was lost early or late in the instar.

Thanks for the reply. Under closer inspection there is a small foot. She's still moves very fast. The injury happened within 2 days before the molt.

I've never really paid attention with low instars, but with higher instars missing a leg they will grow back a tiny nub of a leg in 1 molt and then the full leg by the next molt.
