ive seen this but thats ok if your feeding them to dart frogs but if something gets on your hands and you touch something that your mantid will touch cant it harm your mantid cos it got to be some kind of insectacide but then wouldnt it harm the flies? oh i dont know ya think youve answered one question then it leads to another one! LOL!.

u mean the mite paper?not sure..i dont use it..i just start a new culture every month..

Those are common. They will not harm your mantids. If you want to get rid of them sanitize all your containers and start with fresh cultures. Set your cultures on pieces of mite paper. I used to get the mites too but have not had the problem in a long time.

Call me thick but i still dont get it! This has to have insecticide on it so how come it dont harm the flies and the mantids as they are insects (obviously). Puzzles me. every time you touch the culture your gonna be gettin some on your hands id be paranoid about touching anything that may come into contact with the mantid. ( ID TURN INTO A COMPULSIVE HAND WASHER) LOL!...................

You don't put the mite paper INSIDE the cultures, but UNDER the enclosures of your cultures, so when mites do escape they will die when they fall on the paper and don't spread... Atleast that's what I think it does :p

I said call me thick but not that thick i understand ya dont put the paper in the inclosures that would kill all the flies!

not sure if the paper will do your mantids any harm if its outside the container..iv never used it before so i wouldn't know.

The mite paper won't get rid of mites, it is only used to prevent them from getting into clean miteless cultures. Check Rick's previous post. There's no reason you'd need to or want to touch the mite paper except when laying it down.
