Molt issue

Hello all, a female bleph molted to L6 this morning and is still hanging from the shed even after like 4 hours

Should I be worried? Her head is still facing down but she is out, just hanging by abdomen

Anyone else ever see this?

Its fine.

She is drying out. If you are worried you can let her climb on her finger and she will pinch off of the old skin

She isn't stuck but I never seen one hang on that long

It's been almost 5 hours, she molted around 8 this morning

Well. Let her climb on you hand by lifting the lid so she is lying down and she should pinch off of it

My male budwing did that. The only problem is, he never made more than his head emerge, and he died. My fault completely.

Perfectly normal and I would not attempt to move her. She is out and drying and knows where she wants to be.

yay! i have noticed blephs do like to hang alot before they "get up and go".

Most mantids will hang with their butt in the shed skin for a long time after they molt...have seen this many times with my sinensis.

I also have that problem with an indian flower mantis and she is in a final molt and I cant afford to loose a female. And she also is extremly thirsty . :mellow:
