So I got lucky. I checked my mantis that were going to molt here soon. And that's when I came across my S. Lineola female molting on a leaf that was basically touching the ground. She had hit the ground and was badly bending her neck trying to free herself. So I immediately tried lifting the leaf up to get her to molt correctly. But then she fell off(not far from the ground so it didn't hurt her). So I just held her old skin as she continued to get her legs out.... after she was free I was able to stick a pencil underneath her head and raptoral claws to try and get them back in place(I knew she would not make it if they stayed bent like they were)..... and somehow that worked! After 5 minutes Her head was up and she was able to stand. I let her be for the night, and this morning I saw her sitting back on her perch on the leaf. I don't know how such a mess worked out; it was quite a miracle. So if anyone has read this far... my question is why would she molt like that... she basically molted on the ground. I've kept her at room temp, sprayed her enclosure every few days, and she has been a good eater. So what happened? Thanks!
