Those pesky mices are coming into the house again, hate this, don't really care about them, don't like the poop! what is good on a mouse trap that they cannot lick off? I have used cheese, dried out and they get away with it, salami, just chews it off and traps don't spring, trying today ? but last night used nutella, they got that too, got up to use rest room at midnight and turned on kit lite and off it runs across the stove top, down the brick , across the floor under the cubboards all the while going, nan, nan, nan, nan, u can't catch me! :taz:

I have these things that are like little huts, the mouse goes in and the thing closes, the mouse when in there eats the poison, it dies, then u throw the trap away

Why does the mouse need to die? You could do the same thing and dump the mouse outside.
Yeah, so they can come back in and annoy you again. lol

I had a problem with mice in the garage and they always took the bait, literally. It was starting to really annoy me. I looked on the computer and found somewhere that said to put peanut butter inside pantyhose and knot it off. Make balls that are size appropriate for the trap. Where you knotted the pantyhose, secure the knot to the trap "bait holder". It makes it hard to take the bait without tripping the trap. The way they usually beat you is that they just lick the peanut butter until it's gone. This cleared up my mice in no time. Oh the happy sound of tripping traps. Music to my ears.

If you have a problem with them excaping from the snap-traps you could try live traps. The difference being there's no trigger for them to set off to get trapped, you put peanut butter inside the trap, they go to get the peanut butter, and when they do theres no getting out for them. then feed them to a big mantis lol :p

I had this problem too, until realized that I was capable of walking distances in the hundreds of feet! I know, I was shocked too!
No respect for neighbors, I guess. They are pests and will only infest somewhere else. Maybe they'll make a pilgrimage back to their homeland in a generation or two. I'd rather be RID of them and not burden neighbors with MY problem.

u guys are great nuts and I mean it! :stuart: I think I will do the glue cheerios thing, yea, I dont like killing them unless they are for food, and if I was out in the wild and I was hungry, then I would prob cook and eat it, not sure if it would be ok, but I would try it, but yea, they just come back inside!

My some luck, I've never had a mouse problem. I don't think I could kill one just for the satisfaction of doing it. Not even to mention the smell if you didn't check every day. Would put them out in the woods personally.

The problem with that is you'll never be rid of every mouse until the actual problem is fixed. We had a mouse problem 3 years ago, caught and released like 5 mice before we found where they were coming in. After patching it they stopped coming back. So if you go the humane route you have more work for yourself as well.

Tried and true method.

Put down a saucer of fresh, fizzy, sugary soda just as you go to bed.

The rodents will literally drink themselves to death.

This works great around kids and animals- no danger to them. Just be prepared to dispose of the bodies- they usually fall over dead in or near the saucer.

Carbonation is dangerous stuff.
