I got a pair of Multispina that I tried to mate last night at like 2 in the morning. The male is actually bigger than the female. On the first attempt there was a lot of flapping around and the female didn't want any of it. The second attempt, which was like 2 minutes later, the male completely mashed her face into the pillow. It was complete *edit*(attacked) and the female was completely helpless! They must have stayed in that position for like 45 minutes and the entire time I never witnessed them connect. I went back and forth between facebook and watching them. One more position change after that and the female was biting away at my pair of jeans that she was face down on and they eventually broke up.
I noticed immediately after that the female seemed very weak. She had this wobbly walk to her. I picked her up and put her in her cage, but noticed that there was some liquid on my hand.. ewwwww I thought. But each time I held her I noticed more liquid on my hand. Some time during that attempted mate she got cut. I can't exactly see where it is and I was really just hoping for her to eventually heal.
TODAY she is extremely WEAK. She is almost barely able to hang onto her cage (she likes to hang up side down). She is like barely even clinging on. I even noticed one of her legs not even being in use anymore earlier.. and now it looks like it's a little bent.. kind of how an inflated balloon would look if it doesn't have enough air in there.. something to that effect.
Just wondering if she's a goner.. or if there's something I could do to help her out...
