Too bad my neighbor ran them over with the lawn mower...

These might be a different species, but this photo gives you an idea of their size

(That's my dads arm, I'm not that hairy or old ;) )

me neither, and dont burn them either, i burned a mushroom a few years ago (dont ask lol) and the fumes are highly noxious

i almost passed out :(

now i just shred them to bits with a weedwhacker :devil: :gun_bandana: :gunsmilie:

My mom was commenting on wondering what would happen if you smoked them, now we know ;)

We actually think they are a very poisonous species, so I won't be going near them. (Which is difficult when you live in a mobile home with a tiny yard)

 
Those are nice and big.

Here are some Amanita muscaria I collected a few years ago. There is a lot of lore associated with this species.

They are the classic red cap with white spots but in the US, east of the Mississippi, for an unknown reason they are more of a yellow color (Amanita muscaria var. formosa).

Pour some salt on It and watch what happens! Makes a hypertonic environment on the shroom... ( a couple tbsps on the shroom cap, after it has spread out)

 
Some amanitas can destroy your liver! I think the first ones were a kind of parasol. I forget the Latin name but I think its a green spored lapoita. Bad for you!
