Hey guys. So as you know, both of my Creos are adult. The female started calling yesterday. Today I fed her 2 fat crickets. She's fat now. I put them together. My male creo jumped on my female. Yay. But the problem is, he tried to aim for the abdomen for like 5 times. Now he isn't. Did he give up? What should I do? What's wrong? image.jpg

I separated my D. Lobata when that happened. After 12 hours or so he just wasn't trying anymore and I didn't want to risk him getting eaten during the night. I tried again and again and one of the days he made a connection : )

He might just be taking a break and gathering his energy again though, so if you want to leave them together just try to make sure the female won't eat him!

As noted in my guide, when the male stops trying and just sits there you can blow a quick, sharp breath on him. Often that gets him going again. Or you can take some small tongs and gently squeeze his thorax. Both work for me sometimes. If that doesn't work remove him and try in a couple days.

She could be fed more also. She's fat but not what I would call fat enough.... Also don't feed the male for a few days.... It makes him fat which makes to more difficult for him to bend and connect..... Just a couple things I've noted with mine....
