can anyone identify the mantid in my AV?

i got the pic online years ago and the photographer said it was taken in Equador that's about all i know.

stunning isin't it? i wish i knew more about it.

The detail shown by the photo is not the best for an ID, however, the specimen very likely belongs to the genus Pseudacanthops. Females of this genus are rather rare and this one may be a still unknown species, as the abdominal lobes are very expressed. This is purely speculative, though.

This was a formidable mantid, I own this stunning photo for a couple of years now.
