From oldest to youngest.

Kent-Lok (8 1/2 months old. Female. Got her at L3. Phyllocrania paradoxa. Adult):

Looking outside. Had her since mid-November. The longest I've ever had a mantid was 5 months. She'll beat that record by mid-May.

Gor-Tok (2 1/2 months old. Should be female. Hatched from an ootheca. Tenodera angustipennis. L5):

Beautiful. I love the colors this one has. Gonna be a real beauty (as if s/he isn't already).

Morta (2 1/2 months old. Should be male. Hatched from an ootheca. Tenodera angustipennis. L4):

A brown one. Looks a lot like Keek (my Tenodera sinensis who had passed).

Magnifico (2 1/2 months old. Not sure of ***. Got him at L2. Idolomantis diabolica. L2):

S/he saw me and turned his/her head. Made for a great photo. These guys go through a few color changes on the way to adulthood.

And these are my current beauties. Anyone want to show off their own? You can send me a link or post photos in your reply to this thread.

Your Idolo is more colorful than mine were at L2. Does Kent-Lok have a mate?

I just started a thread with some photos that I took.
That's odd. All the photos I looked up in Google of L2 Idolomantis diabolica have the same coloring. And Kent-Lok doesn't have a mate, unfortunately. I'm trying to get one, though.

Cool, I'll check it out.

My L2s were pink/purple. I don't remember them having as much color on the abdomen as yours.

Just a little pet peeve of mine, never put L# before an adult mantis because the L stands for larval stage and the mantid is an adult.

Thank you, I always wondered what the L stood for, I couldn't find the info. Now it all makes sense. And now I must edit many titles of photos. Lol.

Nice collection. :) I especially liked the pics of Kent-Lok and Magnifico, probably because they look so exotic, haha. Are they all different personality-wise too?

They are very nice, lol. Thanks. :) Yeah they are the most exotic-looking. Both are from Africa, too. And oh yeah, they've all got their own personalities.

Kent-Lok is the sweetest thing in the world. She always wants to be on me and is so gentle. She relates me with being let out, given food, etc. She's been with me the longest and has figured out when I'm getting ready to feed her. She literally sticks her head up and starts feeling for the food with her maxillae. She is very much like a cat.

Gor-Tok is more active, though not as active as Morta, and is more likely to jump off of me rather than on me, unlike Kent-Lok.

Morta is the most active of all. He does backflips when I frighten him, it's hilarious! He likes crawling on me and observing me, though. He also always tries to reach for things that aren't even close to him, lol.

And Magnifico is active and more like Kent-Lok. S/he'd rather jump on me than off me. Though is still a little cautious since s/he's the newest addition to my mantids. The other day s/he was less afraid than usual so it seems s/he's getting used to me.
