My Hierodula nymphs are now L3 (appr 2-3 cm), and currently I have 7 in one and 9 in the other container. They eat fruitflies (and the occasional other smaller fly I catch in my house). So far they are rather calm, but I have read about them being cannibalistic. I watch them closely but did not see any signs of aggression among them, they even climb over each other if one gets in the way. When should I separate them? I don't want any of them to be eaten by its siblings, because I just have 16 (from 26 two weeks ago - some died during molting or were just weak out of unknown reasons).
Also I should probably find some other food source than tiny friutflies when they get bigger. What would you suggest? Where can I get bigger flies in a reasonable amount? No pet store around has naything except crickets Gryllus Assimilis) which are too big for them now.
Is there a way to tell sexes at that stage? some are already much bigger than the rest.
