Here's a few different pics. The first two are my Budwing and male Lab. The third is a Chinese nymph and my female Lab.

Thanks. Winston, my male Lab, is only 2 and jumps up and attacks any bug he ever sees, so I was a little worried about this shoot, but he also listens to me pretty well, so luckily he didn't even consider messing with her after I told him to leave it. In the second picture, I had to yell at him right before clicking the shutter so he would open his eyes. :) The mantis was standing there watching him sleep, then all of a sudden went into her pose. I assume his heavy breathing set her off.

Thanks. Occasionally, Winston and the Budwing don't get along though. Once in a while she'll steal his bone and he's got to change into Batlab to get it back.

Btw, please don't think the other pics in this series were Photoshopped...they weren't. The mask in this pic sort of looks like it was to me, but it wasn't....just the bone in the mantis's mouth.

Nice! I have a ten y/o Golden Retriever, and he bites at spiders and flies, so I don't take any chances with my mantids. Your dogs seem really calm (Even though you had to tell Winston to leave the budwing alone ;) ).

that budwing sure is cocky, some one needs to put him in his place. lol
