Here are a few photos I took recently with my new camcorder. I've got some vids too but they take a long time to upload, maybe another day.

Heterochaeta sp. adult pair (female then male).

Thanks Meagan. A nice man from AZ was selling them mid 2011. All of my females are subs and the males are presub at the moment.

Thanks everyone!

@Nick: Yeah desiccata are my favorites, they are huge (biggest/strongest forearms by far) and will just sit and look around for hours. That proud mother is 9 cm.

@Paul: Heterochaeta sp. is huge! They are very slow growers, but it is rewarding in the end when you get a 14 cm adult :cowboy:

+1

wow, I have been aprehensive about letting my mantids so near one another...I assume they dont normally reside together. nice to see some comparison shots

Thanks everyone!

@Ryan: The adult female is 13.5 cm, and as you can see she is missing her cerci. She'd be nearly 15 cm with the cerci! Males are a bit smaller, around 12.5 cm.

@Yen: Great eyes! I am a huge fan, its a nice Christmas present I got this year. Are you a fan yourself?
