Didn't know they are so green coming out. I like the little tightrope walker in the second shot. Keep an eye on that one or he may run away and join the circus. :)

Congrates on the hatching. The ootheca resembles Stagmomantis limbata more than Stagmomantis californica in general, but I could be wrong. Generally, S. limbata ootheca has rich chocolate/brown ootheca color while S. californica has much lighter color. Were you able to keep the adult female? Did you notice the hindwing color?

actually i wasnt too sure if it was californica or not. i was looking through online photos trying to find out when i had the parent, and through google images i figured it was a cali esp since the area is local.

unfortunately, i dont have the mother's body anymore, roommates cat got into my room and ate it. same event when i came home a day ago and i saw the nymph cage chewed open. -_-*

can you guys tell me more info about limbata and californica differences? i would hate to keep calling them cali if really they end up being limbata lol

I'm with yen on this one. They look more like limbata nymphs to me. I have had a recent hatch of californica nymphs, and believe it or not. They all hatched out as a tan color. I'm talking like 60 nymphs. Limbata, and carolina both hatch out green.

hmm thanks a lot for the information.

when i looked up images online i got both green and brown nymph images. they both seem easily mistaken. i think i trust you guys more lol
