hey all, i harvested some gb maggers and pupae today and found large black pupae in with them

on the left is a gb pupa and the right is the mystery species

anyone have any ideas?

As the pupae get old and do not eclose for some reason or another, they often, if not always turn dark as the one in the picture. There are many Sarcophagid flies that are on the large size and would be like the one pictured.

 
Well all flies are safe, and mantises no doubt must eat them in the wild. Try them on a local species and see if they eat them.
