need help identifying a mantis

Hi all, I am in northern Illinois and I have two mantids that I found and I can't I.D. I have gone to some local places and they havent seen anything like it before. The mantis is a dark grayish color, like the color of a P. spurca. the front segment on its arms is an orangish color. the legs are green and they have a brown band at the joint. I have looked in a field guide and there is nothing in there about this species. I will try to post some pics of it up on here later on. If anyone might know please let me know.

What size is it? I am from Illinois and I am betting it's a carolina mantis.

right now it is not very big. it has molted 2 times with me and i think at least once before i got it. it is bout an inch and a half long.
