I have one extra adult pair of greater arid-lad katydid (or the red eye devil, or spiny katydid) which is predatory and large size katydid. After looking at how this species of katydid rip apart a huge grasshopper, it is capable of taking down any size of praying mantis (No doubt!) so if you plan to get one please keep it in individual cage and keep it away from any live mantis! The red eye devil is also easily agitated and will show a defensive threat pose immediately. Email me at [email protected] if interested.

Awesome critter! :) Where is this species found?
This particular predatory katydids species (N. spinosa) can be found mainly around Central and West Texas, probably some on North of Mexico border to Texas region. The one I have are mainly collected in Abilene (West of Dalls-Forthworth) and also some between San Antonio and Houston, mostly near SA at New Braunfels.

Have they attacked you? How do they grasp onto its prey?
