Hi all,

We're all in tears around here. Our chinese mantid is laying an ooth, but she's never been bred. We don't even have a male mantid in the house. Is this normal?

Will she die soon?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Waly

AND once again, JIC, ......Yes, but it's just infertile. Yes, unfortunately, she may be nearing the end of her lifespan. (But I believe you still have a couple of months.) Perfectly normal.

Yes that is normal. They will lay infertile ooths as long as they live. She won't die unless she is already old. They can lay several ooths in their lifetimes.
