New from Michigan

Hello, my name is Weezie. I'm 31, from Michigan. I've always been an insect and animal lover, and just got my first mantis this year. She is a dead leaf mantis named Cinco. I was able to watch her molt last week, it was fascinating! The pic of her climbing the wall was a couple weeks before she molted. The other pic of her doing her aggressive pose (for the first time!) was taken more recently.

Did anyone else notice the treat looks like 2 wide spaced eyes?  Maybe I just noticed for first time. Like the color patterns on some moths look like eyes to attackers.

You're right, I never noticed that! Maybe it helps to see it with a dark background.

Funny how the brain interprets to make us see what is not there but makes sense to us!
