im not a newbie but im not a pro when it comes to mantises i just love them as a hobby and im goin to a park to look for some oothecas for the florida bark species and larger florida mantis species and maybe a carolina ooth. Does anybody have any tips to find ooths? or where to look? thx

This time of year is the time to look for mantid ooths. Weedy meadows.

Rick and Rebeca are right up there when it comes to ooth snagging, but there are other useful places to check out, including walls. This year, I have gotten all of my Stagmomantis limbata ooths from the walls of the local Presbyterian church. There are a couple that are way too high for me to reach. Here's a pic, taken yesterday:

I don't know whether or not they lay on Romanian Orthodox churches! :D
