I got 6 violin's from Peter Clausen a few weeks ago. In the past few day's 2 females and 1 male molted. all went fine till the male had a bad molt he only got 80% out. so after 14 hours with no progress I put him in the freezer, and man I felt so bad but I know it was the right thing to do. :( my temps are fine but humidity is about 45-50% I'm thinking that may be to low?I use homemade screen cages but the floor is solid with contact paper on it and a small bowl of wet moss in there. should I maybee cover the whole floor in moss(makes it hard to clean) or what? any ideas to raise humidity with out spraying 5 times a day.

I like to keep mine outside during the summer. Its typically higher humidity and with screen cages you don't have to worry about cooking them. Gongylus have more of a tendency to mismoult than your typically shaped species. A single mismoult does not necessarily mean something is wrong with the environment.

That is true. Sometimes it just happens regardless of what you do. I keep a layer of paper towel in with mine and mist it once a day. Their temps are high 80's-90's. Gongy like it hot. I have few problems with em.
