hi to everyone,

I usually switch off the warming cables for my mantis on the night.I've read on ukmantisforum that it is useful for increase longevity and stoutness of mantis. But a nocturne sudden change in temperature is also healthy for ooths?Because in some specialized sites8like swissmantis.ch or mantisonline.de there are signed ideal daily and nightly temperature for mantis, but a single indication for ooths(for example from the site mantisonline.de:

Temperature for P.paradoxa

Day 25°C- 30°C

Night not less than 20°C

ooth: Temperature ca. 25°C )

What do you think?

I think in nature the mantids and oothecae will be in the same environment. But,(not sure) it might be faster at hatching an ooth if it is kept warm. I treat my mantids and oothecae exactly the same,( Only, I don't feed the oothecae. ), with no problems so far. I have only kept species that are local to me, but they definitely are kept cooler in my home than they would be outdoors in the warmer months. :)
