Just getting into the mantis hobby. Got my first mantis last saturday and am loving it. Just a little L4 (?) ghost. Name? Jamal-Tyrone. Despite what I have been hearing about males not eating much, he seems to quite a voracious apatite. He ate a moth and a leaf hopper today alone. Is there such a thing as over feeding? Or will they stop when they are not hungry? Seems to be getting pretty fat. I have heard that is a sign of a molt? Certain J-T is a male. Has got the forked crown. Snapshot_20131009.jpg

I'm loving every bit of it so far, and have even gotten some friends to get some mantids.

Welcome. Males eating less is referring to adult males. Male nymphs really don't eat any different than females.
