ok been trying to rebreed my shields so they can lay their first ooths and the male has made his curvature on the female but the female dont seem to be opening up to him when he tries to link up and does this mean she may already be fertile or she has no interest in being bred again as he holds on to her and bends his abdomen and tries to make the connection but as I stated she is not opening up to him and just wondering what this could mean maybe?

She will mate (or allow mating to take place) when she is ready. She will also start laying ooths when she is ready. Laying ooths usually has nothing to do with when a female was mated/or not. Mating her successfully will not be a factor in time of laying, nor will it cause her to lay an ooth.

+1.

just worried that her biological clock is ticking and have 2 females that are about 2 months old at best and dont want to keep trying to breed too often as one of the females had lost a few sticky pads but not alot!
