is it true that d. lobatas go through 8 (females) and 6(males) molts, just like orchids?

When i breed them a while ago, it is 8 molts for female and 7 molts for the male before turning adult. The last two molts for female take a long time.

, i wish i had known his earlier! i thought the only male species that needed to be slowed down was orchids. everyone seems to always emphasize this for orchids only.
Male of most praying mantis species required less molt than female to mature into adult. But female being tends to eat more and grow faster under suitable condition so sometimes both sexes can actually molted about the same time. But for species like Yellow Flower Mantis (Parhymenopus davidsoni), Orchid mantis (Hymenopus Coronatus), Banded Flower Mantis (Theopropus elegans), especially species from Hymenopodidae family molting simultanously into adult for both se xes from same ooth is uncommon.
