Boxer mantids are a bit more ferocious - O. distinctus is even smaller and can also rip apart a 2 cm cricket - you should have seen it - half of the enclosure was upside down - twigs and dries out flower were almost flying around as my fravid female was trying to overpower the poor cricket - it put up a fight, but in the end it did not survive the assault.

Also my B. mendica L3, which with a flat abdomen has about 8 mm, tackled a house fly twice as big - that was a sight!

Id say Psuedocreobotra and creobotra are the most aggressive, funny little things

I agree, Psuedocreobotra, has been the most vicious sp. Ive kept. When I had (want again) P. whalbergii my adult females would greedily eat moths with a 4 inch wingspan!!!! (one female had three of these moths)

Now the was truly a SIGHT to see
