This time it's not a dent like the other which healed with a molt. This one is my little wide arm female. I was looking at her through my lens only to find a reddish brown spot on her left eye. I'm not sure if it is affecting her vision or not just yet. I included a pic at the bottom it's the best I could do.

Anyone???

I think this is the common problem of mantids rubbing their eyes against the glass/side of the terrarium/cage they are in, that's how most of these brown spots appear. Might be something else though but I think that's what happened.

Normal and VERY common. Does not seem to bother them though. I've had some where the whole eye turned nearly black. Doesn't seem to affect them though.

I find wild caught adult mantids with these spots on their eyes, and wild ones don't usually come across glass walls very often.
