One of my new Firsts

Just thought I would show off one of my shield mantis nymphs well has wing buds but still is rather small but one of five that I got from Katnapper and one other one is about the same size as this one while the other three are a few molts behind!

They still are terrors to fruit flies and make small crickets tremble but all in all this species has grown on me quite easily and I apologize for the blurry pictures from my webcam but still can see the beauty of this mantis!Sadly lost 4 shield nymphs but these five are quite hardy and got a strong will to live and one even lost a entire back leg but is still got a lot of life left!

Wing buds are visible pretty early. Once they get really large and stand out you will know it is subadult.

Very fun species to have. Just wait till there adults!

Hee hee, mine are coming along as well. Very aggressive. My L2s tackled houseflies . I had trouble w/ em in the beginning, but they seem really hardy so far in the later instars. By the way, it looks like a beauty

This one is warming up to me but his or her sibling thats the same size is a little more shy about being held or put on my hand at least but just hope the one with the back leg missing will regrow it back but the last molt did nothing to regrow anything though!
