I have hatched fully diapaused ooth and fresh laid ooth of the naturalized species in our area. (Tenoderas & Mantis Religiosa)                     There is definitely a difference in the quality and vigor of the nymphs , non-diapaused are less.  Last fresh ooth had a mortality of 90 %  the rest had many mismoults , it was an anomaly but just seemed a waste .                                                                                                                                                                                                  A full dormant rest period here in B.C. would be October till May. (7 months)      Has anyone on the forum found a do-able in between length of time?  I have three ooth that I'm experimenting with ............ S

@Serle Indeed 7 months is a long wait, and nymphs with diapause are typically stronger (so are nymphs that do a bit of cannibalizing as well at L1-L2, but that's another topic). For Stagmomantis carolina and Tenodera sinensis 6 to 8 weeks of diapause has yielded great results for me from the dozens I've tried various times on. In the 4-6 week range my nymphs were the same or worse than nymphs without diapause.

Let us known your results from your three ooths. :)
