Ummm...those dont look like idolo ooths at all. :blink:

One doesn't look like its viable, because of the gaping hole...no idea about the species.

 
First of all, the origin would be desireable. No way Idolomantis ooths. If they are from Africa, just await the hatch and raise them to adults. It's easier then. However, they look like Sphodromantis ooths. There are a lot of species in this genus and some of them produce ooths like those.

I did not mention that these were Idolomantis ootheca only that they were sent with some, they appear to be harder and darker than other Sprodomantis ive seen but time will tell ;)

As for the gaping hole, yeah there was a single little blue parasitic wasp in the container, not sure that would have caused so much damage on its own but meybe more had hatched before packaging.
