I've read where it's recommended to keep ooths very warm/mist to bring about hatching, and am curious - does this work for some of the cold period requiring species, such as Stagmomantis carolina or M. religiosa, begun soon after the ooths are made? I have a bunch of some of these, made over a period of time, that I would like to have hatch out all together, to rear to L2 and then release into my two gardens this Spring, hopefully avoiding destroying the many eggs if done wrong...

Yes you still want to mist about every other day.

and you dont know if they will hatch at the same time.

they may be a week or two apart

How about just putting the ooths in the garden now?

There is nothing whatsoever in there now, just a mulch of leaves over bare soil. The garden "meadow" effect won't be in place for a couple of months after planting small transplants. The mantises will actually be stocked in the garden a couple of months

after they normally would hatch in the wild. The ooths have been outside all Winter,

so any cold requirements have already been met. I can delay hatching in the coming

warmth by refridgerating the ooths as necessary. This is why I'd like to hatch them

out all at once, or as together as can be. Thanks for your reply, Rick.
