I have some desiccata eggs incubating now, but I'm expecting more. I was wondering if mantid eggs need light during incubation and how important a variable temperature is (day-night variation). Would it for instance be possible to incubate them in a incubator, like I use for my lizard eggs? In here i can easily provide 80-90% humidity and a constant 28-29C. But there is hardly any night time drop and not too much ventilation.

Mantid eggs doesn't need to have special lighting so far as i remember ;)

You also need to wacth out with the humidty as you don't wanna let them rot.

If you going to humid them that high you should have 2 sides of ventilation.

But i DON'T have experience with deroplatys so it might be diffrent

No, Idolmantis is right, they do not need direct light, but a room light where they incubate wont hurt, outside the get sunlight, so I would not keep them in the dark.
