I am sure this has been covered, but I have tried 3 times with no luck. My female is about 3 weeks into adulthood, and the male will not connect with her is she not ready yet? The male will sit on her back and do nothing....Females diet has been mealworms and BB flies. Male, flies only. Ive had no problems with any other sp.

Where have you been keeping the male in relationship to where you keep the female. Are they warm enough? Are they humid enough? Is he old enough?

Do they know each other? These are things to report back to us and see if we can help you. I will make sure that some other breeders see your post.

i read somewhere males should be 4 weeks into adulthood and females should be 6 weeks into adulthood

Pretty typical for these. If he gets on the female just give him time and he should connect. Once on if he just sits there try a quick, forceful breath on him. Sometimes that will get him going. Or just wait. Sometimes you gotta wait for a couple days. These can be a pain.

once I had a male with 2 months as adults, and the female was about a week as adult... I tried, and they mated, then I tried a week later, and it was the same result, sometimes, I just put the male one or two inches away from the female, made the female to move forward, and then the male begun his movement..... once I put the male over the female.... Put the male over a pencil, then put the pencil near the female, and then push the male......

How long are you letting him ride on her back for?

Well, I am being cautious, mating only under a watchful eye as I have only the one pair, and the female is quite aggressive! Male is in a 24oz cup, female in an 80oz tub, next to each other. mid 70's in the day, low 70's at night. about 70-80% RH (varies). I will try again this weekend. Male is about a month into adulthood, female about 3 weeks. I have had him ride her for about a half hour before I give up, as I dont want my only male being munched before a connection. Thanks guys.
