Orchid mantis mating

Hi everyone!

It s been almost 3 days that my male Orchid is on top fo the female.They did mate already,but the male seems happy not willing to move ,taking advantage of a long free ride.Is it normal he is still tapping?The female is not agressive at all...

Mine rode his female until he died. And then some. His dry, lifeless corpse eventuall fell off a few days later. Was pretty funny.

Can I handfeed him?I did not know they would stay until they die :blink: ..

Or hand REMOVE him. I didn't know at the time if it was normal or not, so just left them to it. Got a good story out of it...

:lol: Yeah I've seen em stay for a long time too. If there are flies in the cage he just may catch one. I had a male that rode around for days on the female. During that time he caught flies and ate.
